Fada-Hossein Maleki, member of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, told IRNA on Tuesday that the US has long been seeking to create a regional alliance against Iran.
American officials have announced that their goal of creating a drone network in the region is to control Iran’s military movements and regional influence, Maleki said.
The lawmaker linked the measure to the recent incidents in the Persian Gulf, where, according to him, Iran’s Navy strongly repelled suspicious movements of the American navy fleet.
Iran was going to sell drones to Russia, as a strategic partner, he said, adding that Iran has always been seeking to establish peace and stability in the region, but the US and the Zionist regime have been in the center of instability and efforts to threaten the region’s security.
The Iranian legislator advised the countries in the region not to fall in the trap of the US-made Persian Gulf quagmire, noting that the Americans wanted to appease their regional allies, including Saudi Arabia and the Zionist regime, by efforts to make such a network.
